Counselling / Talking Therapy
Counselling falls within the Talking Therapy bracket and is a service which allows people to talk about and discuss problems and any difficult feelings they have in a safe and confidential environment.
Talking Therapy can be utilised by people in different ways, but in general, it is a process people can engage with when they want to change something in their lives, or they may wish to explore their thoughts and feelings in more depth.
A Counsellor is there to facilitate this process, they all have their own ways in which to best achieve this, but they won’t sit you down and tell you what to do. They will encourage you to talk about your feelings and things that are causing you upset or distress in order to discover the underlying cause whilst assessing your thought process or way of thinking.
They may then facilitate the development of a plan of action to either help you reconcile your issues, or help you to find ways of coping.

Our Process..
From the moment we answer your call or email you can rest assured that we will deal with your enquiry in strict confidence and professionally. We will try and establish a few basic details which help us to begin to understand you and match you with the best therapist. This for example, may be based on their experience with your problem or availability or both.
We will then pass your details securely on to the Therapist and ask them to contact you by your preferred method (usually phone or email).
The Therapist will contact you to establish contact with you and to book you in to a session and have a brief discussion with you to begin the process.
On the day of your appointment try to arrive early (5 minutes) to your appointment and on the first session there will be a form for you to complete which contains your consent. The therapist will discuss this with you during your first session. You can then re-book your follow up with the therapist.
